“When you do stuff like this where you’re being kind of goofy anyway--if you don’t spread that goofiness, then you’ve failed.”

Another hot jam from Julee Cruise, a crucial aspect to the Twin Peaks OST, thereby making her a crucial aspect of Twin Peaks.

This song is off her 1989 album, Floating Into The Air, an almost cliche mix of pre-internet dark minimal out-of-place borderline art-pop that feels like someone's dream karaoke party meets small town prom without the obligatory 4 Non Blondes (for better or for worse). The album seems especially crucial for contextualizing more recent popular acts like Grimes, Grouper, Hype Williams and Sleep ∞ Over, who have been spinning Cruise's 'teenage dream'-residual-pop ethos in original and interesting ways.
